More About Dr. Brener

Away from my practice, I have two main interests which take up most of my spare time:

I have been riding for around 15 years and bought Bailey, the second horse I ever rode, when I was having lessons at Ealing Riding School. Bailey is still going strong at the age of 26 and he has been joined by Alfie, a very large chestnut who is also affectionately known as ‘Tractor’.

Alfie and I take part in affiliated dressage competitions in which my main aim is simply to stay on and not break anything. We are currently looking forward to the challenges of moving up to Medium level.

I have been a fanatical theatre-goer for longer than I care to admit. Some people call me a ‘theatre anorak’ but I prefer to think of it as simply having a good memory for facts.
I have a long association with the National Theatre and am a member of the National’s Development Council.
I also sit on the Board of Directors of National Angels, a production company that supports the transfer of plays from subsidised theatres into the West End. Our biggest achievement to date is the transfer of War Horse, which is currently enjoying a highly successful run at the New London Theatre and has also transferred to New York and Toronto.
